Watercolour, acrylic and pen on A3 watercolour paper

The idea behind this is that while we are in a physical reality, we are also in our own mental reality. We can often drift off into our own mental realities and not be thinking of much, but still not being focused on the physical state. This is why I used large white space where the subject is looking. Another way I wanted to show this was by bringing a focus on the child's expression by using bright colours around the eyes and on the lips. I'm still thinking of other ways to portray this idea so if anyone had any ideas don't hesitate to tell me!
